Grandparent’s Rights
Ohio has created grandparent’s rights by statute and authorized grandparent companionship or visitation rights in certain family situations. The court may order reasonable Grandparent companionship or visitation if it is in the best interest of the child.
Establish Paternity/ DNA Testing
The State of Ohio has considered that parents encounter situations where children are born to unmarried parents. When children are born to unmarried parents the Mother is automatically the residential parent and legal custodian by statute. This means that if a purported Father wants to establish paternity and exercise his constitutional parental rights he must do so by filing a Complaint in the Court of Common Pleas. A DNA test or genetic test can be requested to determine parentage.

Dissolution
A dissolution of marriage means that you and are your spouse have mutually agreed to end the marriage. The dissolution petition is jointly filed after both spouses have signed a separation agreement regarding all property, spousal support and any child custody and child support issues.
